About

Keating Chambers is a leading commercial set specialising in construction, engineering, energy, procurement, shipbuilding and marine engineering, and technology-related law, both in the UK and internationally.

Chambers covers advisory work, and advocacy and dispute resolution services of all kinds, ranging from very small matters to the largest international projects. Members of chambers act in all forms of dispute resolution and litigation. They are often appointed as arbitrators, adjudicators, mediators, experts, legal assessors and dispute resolution board members, in the UK and worldwide.

Chambers has market leading strength in Construction and all kinds of engineering matters (including civil, mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering projects, major infrastructure projects, process plants, power plants, oil production and transportation, coal and gas, ship building and refurbishment) both domestically and internationally; development contracts (including PFI and PPP); contractual claims; claims regarding defective buildings and other structures; local authority work (including building control work); IT; and European Community law, particularly public procurement and competition law.

Chambers’ vast experience of professional negligence work principally concerns the construction-related professions, notably architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and building surveyors, although individual members also undertake cases involving valuers and even lawyers. This is shown by the number of reported landmark cases members of Keating Chambers have been involved in. Other construction-related areas of specialisation include performance bonds and warranties, commercial insurance contracts, freezing, and other types of injunctions. Some members of chambers also have experience in environmental law, aviation law, landlord and tenant, and health and safety-related issues.

Clients include building contractors (both main and sub-contractors), property owners and developers, government departments and agencies, local authorities, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, valuation and building surveyors, insurance companies and professional indemnity insurers. Members of the chambers accept work by licensed access and public access where applicable.

Many members of chambers advise on or act in international litigation (eg individual members have been called to the Bars of Barbados, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Northern Ireland and Singapore) or arbitration (whether based in the UK or abroad). Members act in and are appointed as arbitrators, particularly in ICC, LCIA, ICSID, FIDIC, UNCITRAL, European Development Fund, SIAC, DIAC and HKIAC arbitrations. Chambers has members fluent in French and Yoruba, and offers additional capability in Arabic, German, Italian, Persian and Spanish.

We wanted to create a site that was clear, crisp and uncluttered and reflected Keating Chambers market-leading position. Due to the set's huge strength in construction and engineering we were able to use stunning imagery featuring projects they had been instructed on. This coupled with a clear navigation and coherent colour palette enabled us to deliver a website that fit in with the overall modernisation of Chambers.
